1 - How do you explain the Justice Movement?

The Justice Movement wants to inspire and equip Christian young people to live out God’s calling to biblical justice as part of living out their Christian faith, as well as to become leaders in encouraging others within the church to do the same.

2 - What is JUSTICE?

The Justice Movement is rooted in biblical justice. It’s about patterning our lives after the life and ministry of Jesus.

Jesus came and lived among us to bring us healing, love, and hope. Jesus “moved into our neighborhood” when He came in the flesh (John 1:14 The Message). He drew near to pain and suffering to bring healing and restoration.

When Jesus publicly announced His ministry, He spoke of justice, freedom, and setting captives free (Luke 4:14-20). He ushered in God’s plan to restore us and the world. Jesus heals humanity from the bondage of sin and brings freedom to those enslaved in many forms of oppression.

Jesus started a movement of healing and restoration, and He invites us to participate.

3 - What is Just Water?

The Justice Movement will include particular focuses on specific justice-related issues, beginning with the global water crisis.  The resources related to this focus will include curriculum, videos, and weekend event guides under the title “JUST WATER.”

4 - What is the difference between Do Justice Weekend (DJ Weekends) and Just Water Weekend?

A Do Justice weekend event will focus on learning about justice and a particular global issue. Through learning, spiritual formation, and fundraising, youth will work together to seek justice through local churches.

JUST WATER Weekend will be the initial campaign in a collective of Do Justice Weekends offered through The Justice Movement.

5 - What is a Just Water Weekend?

JUST WATER Weekend is a Do Justice Weekend event focused on learning about justice and the global water crisis, plus fundraising for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) development in South Asia and in other priority areas.

6 - When is Just Water Weekend?

Groups, families, and individuals can choose ANY weekend of the year to participate. Or you can pick from two JUST WATER Weekends, October 16-17 and March 18-19, that are around two international water days: Global Hand Washing Day and World Water Day.

7 - Do I have to plan Just Water weekend on one of the scheduled dates?

You can plan to have your JUST WATER Weekend on any weekend.

We have two international dates to focus our efforts during Global Handwashing Day and World Water Day, but the choice will be up to each group.

Use #thejustmove  on social media to share about what’s happening in your group with the movement.

8 - What is The Just Water Challenge?

The JUST WATER Challenge can be accepted during JUST WATER Weekend (as an activity), or it can be done as a personal way to get involved in JUST WATER advocacy and fundraising by choosing 7, 40, or 365 days of drinking ONLY water. Participants can set up a fundraising page just like they can for Just Water Weekend.

Drinking only water opens up doors to tell the story about the global water crisis. We drink the clean water we have to remember the clean water people still need. At the same time, we raise funds to support communities who need help implementing their own WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) programs.

9 - How do I START A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN?

To start your own individual fundrasing campaign or a team (group) fundraising campaign, click on the "GIVE" button at the top of this page. You will be directed to our fundrasing page where you can create your campaign by clicking on "Create a Fundraising Page" at the top of the page.

10 - Where do I submit donations?

Go to: www.justicemovement.com/raisefunds, for donations given to your participants (youth) in cash or check please visit the "Offline" Gifts page for instructions on how to submit these donations. Be sure to download the Gift Tracker document to keep track of your donations. www.justicemovement.com/offlinegifts

11 - Can I be a part of Just Water without a team?

Yes, you can sign up as an individual rather than a team.  Go to: www.justicemovement.com/raisefunds, where you can set up an individual cause page.

12 - Where does the money go? What does it do?

The money you raise for JUST WATER, we will be used to fund WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) projects in communities in South Asia. Once those priority projects are funded, money raised will go toward WASH projects in other areas without access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries will work together with local churches and child development centers to begin new projects and strengthen existing programs.

13 - Where do I access the curriculum?

The curriculum is free and can be downloaded in five languages. Download links will be sent after members join The Justice Movement.  Go to: www.justicemovement.com/raisefunds to join the movement.

If you have already joined the movement, you can download the curriculum at: Go to: www.justicemovement.com/resources

14 - Is the Justice Movement only about water?

No. The Justice Movement is about connecting youth with God's heart for justice. We will periodically introduce different campaigns that focus on various issues of justice in our world, but the first campaign will focus on the global water crisis and providing water, sanitation, and hygiene access to communities in South Asia.

15 - Where will Just Water be launched globally?

We will launch JUST WATER online, then at invitational events around the world. The 2015 dates include, USA/ Canada (Kentucky, July 2015), Mexico (July 2015), and Indonesia (October 2015).

16 - How do I interact with the Justice Movement online?

Here’s where you can find the movement online: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram at @thejustmove  Sign up for our Newsletter and Prayer Updates.  #thejustmove

17 - Can a person drink too much water?

During a JUST WATER Weekend and during a JUST WATER Challenge, it is advised that a participant only drink water as needed for hydration.  Water drinking contests of any kind are not advised.  While extremely rare and isolated, drinking too much water (gallons and gallons over a short period of time) can be dangerous.
